Waste Warriors: Reusable Container Challenge is on now until February 16th!

Did you know that it takes 500-1000 years for plastics to degrade?  Well, the Waste Warriors have a solution!  The Reusable Container Challenge is on now!  Each student is being encouraged to pack their lunches and snacks in reusable containers, and to use a reusable water bottle.  Our goal is to greatly reduce the use of single use plastics like Ziploc bags, bottled water and plastic wrapping here at Sunnybrae.

Each day, students will tally the number of reusable containers and reusable water bottles for their class. We will be awarding special bonus points litter-less lunches.  After 30 days, the class that has the highest average use of reusable containers will win a class pizza lunch sponsored by the Green Team.

Battery Collection

Did you know that we have a battery collection going on?  Please continue to send in any old batteries to be recycled.  We will be collecting batteries until the end of February.

Marker Recycling

The Green Team has started a marker recycling program in conjunction with Crayola Canada here at Sunnybrae.  Not only are we accepting markers from teachers and students here at school, but we would also love to take any of your old markers and highlighters from home! Please send them in throughout the remainder of the school year.

Thank you for your support!  Go Bulldogs!
