Walk N' Roll to school during the month of May
Spring into spring this May with Walk n' Roll to school month! This May, Sunnybrae students will be challenged to take green transportation to school by walking, rolling, or riding the school bus to school!
Walking, or rolling, to school has many benefits:
- Healthier students out getting exercise!
- Fewer emissions, less air pollution
- Safer school zones with fewer cars = healthier communities
For more information about the benefits of Active Transportation go to http://ontarioactiveschooltravel.ca/benefits-of-active-school-travel/
Each student will receive a card to track the number of times that they walk, roll, or take a bus to school. After 10 times, students will drop off their cards to the Walk n' Roll ballot box and get a new card. Each week members from the Green Team will be drawing names to win a prize! Go Bulldogs!
Did you know that we have a battery collection going on? Please continue to send in any old batteries to be recycled. We will be collecting batteries until May 3, 2018
The Green Team has started a marker recycling program in conjunction with Crayola Canada here at Sunnybrae. Not only are we accepting markers from teachers and students here at school, but we would also love to take any of your old markers and highlighters from home! Please send them in throughout the remainder of the school year.
Thank you for your support! Go Bulldogs!
