Bulldog Bulletin January 12 to 16, 2026

Vice-Principal’s Message:

Happy New Year, Sunnybrae Bulldogs! As we begin 2026, I am excited to be joining the school community and look forward to getting to know the students, staff, and families who make this school such a special place. My journey in education has included teaching Kindergarten to Grade 8 with much of my career in Grade 2 and then teaching Physical Education.  I began my career teaching in Brampton, with the Peel District School Board.  I moved to Simcoe County in August of 2013, when I was hired as a Vice-Principal at Mountain View Elementary School in Collingwood.  I spent 4 years there before moving to Algonquin Ridge Elementary School where I spent 7 and a half years.  I have proudly called the Simcoe County District School Board home. These experiences have shaped who I am as an educator and leader.

I believe deeply in creating welcoming, inclusive learning environments where every student feels seen, valued, and supported. Guided by a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, I look forward to working alongside the school community to build meaningful relationships, remove barriers to learning, and support every student in thriving both academically and personally.

Safe Arrival system for SCDSB schools –email [email protected] or call 1-888-885-8065 or to report an absence (we recommend using the email system). Parents/guardians are responsible to report a child’s absence/arriving late prior to the start of the school day. Do not wait for the call from the school. Please note: the safe arrival number and email are to be used only to notify the school if your child will be late or absent. It is not for notification of changes in pick up, busing, etc.

On days when buses are cancelled due to inclement weather, the Safe Arrival program continues. For parents/guardians of students who ride the bus on these days, if you receive a call and believe that your child should be in attendance, you are asked to please call the school. Otherwise, the school will assume that you are aware of your child's absence

Families of students who walk to school should call the school if their children are not attending on inclement weather days. If you receive a call and believe that your child should be in attendance, you are asked to please call the school. Otherwise, the school will assume that you are aware of your child's absence.
